Greek love story

If I had to pick my favorite destination of 2015, I would say without hesitation: Mykonos! I completely fell in love with this island and everything about it. Allow me to give you a taste of what it’s like to spend a few days in this heavenly spot.

We decided to stay at a hotel called Casa Del Mar because of its ideal location on the beach and because of its typical Greek design. Moreover, each hotel room was actually a villa of its own which really gave us the feeling of being at home. Each morning, we would wake up with the breakfast set up on our private terrace from which we could admire the peaceful scenery of the hotel’s cove. How can you wake up in a bad mood with such a sight?

The early afternoon was usually spent soaking up the sun on the hotel’s private beach. The pure turquoise water was deliciously warm as we visited in late July. Something else I absolutely loved about Mykonos is its laid back and boho chic atmosphere. When visiting, keep in mind that everyone on the island lives on a particular schedule: breakfast at 11AM, lunch at 4PM and dinner at 11PM. Personally, I wasn’t complaining…

Our favorite spots to have lunch and spend the afternoon were Nammos, Scorpios and Solymar. All three are located right on the beach, offer delightful Greek dishes and get everyone dancing until sunset. In the evening, head to the old town, wander in the charming paved streets and pick a restaurant for dinner. After that, follow the music and let your heart guide you!
